Please note: We no longer support ROES on OSX 10.6.8. This page, with it’s download link for ROES on OSX 10.6.8, has been provided for customers running this older version of the Mac OS, but it is a step above-and-beyond our official support policy. We cannot guarantee the ROES software will run correctly on your system, nor can we offer support by telephone or email.

Though Apple has not officially dropped support of OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, it appears they are no longer supplying security updates for these older systems. Following the policies of many other companies, we have made the difficult decision to no longer officially support ROES running on any Mac systems older than OSX 10.7. The ROES software installs and runs a completely different version on OSX 10.7 and above, in fact installing Java is no longer necessary which is a welcome improvement. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes customers running older Mac hardware.

 


 

Installing and Launching ROES for the first time.

  1. Hold the Control key as you Click on the Download ROES button above and in the flyout menu, select Download Linked File As . . .

  2. Save MeridianPro.jnlp to the desktop or another location you can find easily.

  3. Locate the file you downloaded, MeridianPro.jnlp. Hold the Control-Key as you Click on it and from the flyout menu choose Open.

  4. You will briefly see Java load. Then you will be asked “Do you want to run this application?” Click Run. The catalog will begin downloading. ROES will open. You may now begin ordering.

    You will be asked "Do you want to run this application?" Select RUN.

    Enter your MeridianPro account number. You may now begin to order.

  5. A desktop icon will be created. Keep both files, the original MeridianPro.jnlp file that you downloaded to the desktop, as well as the new yellow MeridianPro icon that was created. Click on either one to launch ROES and order again in the future.

    Keep both files. Next time you order Launch ROES using either one.

ROES for Windows 32-bit Systems

You appear to be running a 32-bit Windows computer.  You will be able to install and run the Java Web Start version of our software.  If you do not have Java (Free Download) installed on your computer, you must install it before the software will run.

Running ROES for the first time.

  1. If you do not hava Java installed, please download and install it from Oracle’s Java website.  If you are not certain if your computer has it, this is a good opportunity to download and install the latest, most secure version of Java.

  2. Click on the Download ROES button above to begin the installation process.

  3. If your browser asks if you wish to run or save the download, please choose “Run“.

  4. Java will launch.

  6. A security prompt will ask if you wish to run the software.  Click on the “Run” button.

  7. ROES will begin to download assets such as the product catalog and then launch.

  8. You may now begin to order.  A desktop icon will have been created and you may launch the software next time using either the desktop icon or this webpage.  Both options work equally well.

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to launch the software successfully, we may be able to help.  Please check the common launch problems and their solutions listed below.

  • NullPointerException:  If you have run the program on this computer before and the screen resolution or layout has changed since the last time, this may sometimes occur.  Deleting the Meridian3.properties file from your %userprofile%\.Meridian3 folder may help.  To find that file so that you may delete it, type this path into the address bar of any explorer window:  %userprofile%\.Meridian3

  • Unable to Launch Application:  This is typically caused by security software preventing the launch of Java applications based on Java Web Start technology.  Temporarily disabling your security software or adding an exception for Java, JavaW, and JavaWS may help.  Those files are found in this folder:  %programfiles%\Java\jre7\bin

ROES Client Software Not Supported on Your System

When downloading the ROES software our website attempts to check your operating system family, operating system version, and if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit.  This is done to ensure that the correct version of ROES is presented to you, if possible, and provide any information relevant to your specific platform.

Unfortunately, the website has detected that your system does not appear to meet one or more of the requirements for running ROES.  If you believe this to not be the case or wish to browse all available launchers for other reasons, you may do so by visiting the link below.

  • Java 7 (Not needed if installed using ROES Web Start)
  • OS X 10.6+

* The amount of required disk space is variable depending on the assets fetched from the web for the products you choose to view, the orders you place, etc. The program itself only requires about 4 MB of space. Art assets will grow over time and may take tens or hundreds of megabytes as you browse the catalog. These assets are fetched from the web as you view each product and cached for future use, so only the products you choose to view will grow this footprint. The largest consumer of space is the space used by archived orders. Since they contain a copy of the images you’ve included in an order, they can eventually consume anywhere from a few megabytes to gigabytes.

** Any Mac that can run Java 6 or Java 7 can run ROES. Systems that can use ROES Web Start should do so, but RWS is only supported on either OS X 10.7+ or 64-bit Windows systems. Systems that cannot use RWS instead must use Java Web Start which includes support for any system with Java 6 or later installed. On the Mac platform, this normally means OS X 10.6 or later. OS X 10.5 systems with Intel processors technically have the option of installing Java 6 as well, but PowerPC systems do not.

Great! You appear to be running a Mac with OSX 10.7 or newer, which means you can use our latest ROES Web Start installer. ROES Web Start allows your computer to launch the ROES app using a self-contained Java environment which does not require your computer to have Java installed.

Installing and Launching ROES for the first time.

  1. You may simply Click on the Download ROES button above and it will save to your downloads folder. However, we think a better practice is to . . . hold the Control key as you Click on the Download ROES button above and in the flyout menu, select Download Linked File As . . .

    Hold the CONTROL key as you CLICK the download ROES link. Select "Download Linked File As . . . "

  2. Find the file you saved, launchnew.dmg, Now Double-click to launch it. It will mount a disk image, then automatically open an installer.

     

  3. Double-click the installer. The ROES app will create a desktop shortcut and open the app.

    Important: When installing, you may have to hold the Control-Key when clicking the installer for the Mac OS to allow installation of software downloaded from the internet. 
    As the program opens you will be warned: this is an app  downloaded from the internet, are you sure you want to open it? Click Open.

  4. You must enter your MeridianPro account number. If you do not know your account number, go to this link to retrieve it: Existing Customer Lookup. You are now ready to order. Learn how to use the app with the training links below.

    Enter your MeridianPro account number. You may now begin to order.

  5. Keep the desktop icon that was created; next time you order you can use it rather than coming back to this web page.
